What is a Pedorthist?


A Pedorthist is trained in the biomechanical assessment of the lower limb, the fitting and modification of foot orthoses, and the fitting and modifying of footwear, all for the purpose of alleviating painful or debilitating conditions and providing assistance for abnormalities or limited action of the lower limb.

What is a Certified Pedorthist trained to do?

• Assess walking patterns and lower limb alignment
• Design and make custom orthotics
• Fit orthopedic and therapeutic footwear
• Modify footwear
• Cast and measure for custom footwear
